About Me

- Fully-qualified, DBS checked English teacher, tutor, and examiner.
- BA in English Literature (Lancaster University); MA in Gothic Literature (Manchester Metropolitan University).
- Fellowship with the Chartered College of Teaching.
- Nearly 20 years of experience at an Independent Grammar School before tutoring full time.
- Expertise in both Literature and Language, from KS2 to A level, with some degree assistance.
- Coaching for 11 plus and grammar school entrance exams, as well as SATs provision.
- Experienced GCSE and A level examiner for various examination boards.

I have taught/examined for most exam boards but I specialise in AQA/Eduqas GCSE.

 One to one sessions

Pupils attend in person or online, and receive regular, bespoke, tailored tuition aimed at raising their grades and boosting confidence. 45/60 minute slots available.

Online Group sessions

​

Pupils attend the sessions online, via Zoom, in relatively small groups, to generate discussion and study buddy style learning.

Location

All tuition takes place at my home office in Baxenden, Accrington, in Lancashire or online via Zoom.

Teaching Style

My teaching style is student-centred, focusing on individual needs and goals, to ensure each pupil reaches their full potential. I provide a supportive and engaging learning environment, using tailored resources and strategies. With a blend of structured lessons and interactive activities, I foster a deep understanding and love for the subject. My extensive experience allows me to adapt my approach to suit various learning styles, ensuring effective and consistent progress.
